Far away from towns and cities is a tranquil farmhouse at the foot of the Erongo mountains - The Erongo Farmhouse. Many a traveler has visited to escape the crowds, taking the road less travelled to experience the rustic living of a farm in Africa.
We currently offer self catering accommodation. The house is fully stocked with everything you need.
We have a marked Jeep Track with lovely viewpoints, ideal for sundowners. Also great spots for yoga enthusiasts.
Would you like to arrive and find your fridge full of food for breakfast, lunch & dinner? If you book this ahead of time, we can arrange for this service.
We respect your privacy and won’t disturb you unless you need us. Once you check in, the house is yours to treat as if it was your very own home.
The Erongo Farmhouse includes free Wi-Fi. The campsites do not have Wi-Fi. However there is a very strong MTC signal.
The pools are only available in a good rainy season. Get in touch beforehand to find out if the pools are full & ready for you to enjoy.
Enjoy a variety of beautiful hiking & cycling trails. To navigate around the hiking and cycling trails please download the Free TRAILFORKS APP on Google Play Store. Don't forget to pack your mountain bike & helmets.
By prior arrangement you can also view ancient rock art at a variety of locations on the farm. This activity will be done on foot and will be guided by the owner. Please book ahead of visit.
If you have vehicle with ample ground clearance, then you are welcome to drive our marked Jeep Tracks around the farm. Along the way, there are viewing points to enjoy with an easy short hike to watch the sunset.
If you are staying nearby and wish to partake in some outdoor activities, then you may visit us for the day to make use of our hiking & cycling trails & viewing points. Also ideal for locals as we are situated only 40km outside of Omaruru.
From the comfort of the farmhouse veranda, there are many bird species that visit the bird bath in the garden. The Rüppell's parrot, Rosy-faced lovebirds, & White-tailed shrike are some of the special endemic birds to watch out for.
We have a variety of rock-climbing walls for sports climbers. Climbing permitted with own gear and at own risk. Please contact us for prior arrangement to rock climb.
Coming from Windhoek you travel along the B1 towards Okahandja. Stay on the B1 until it changes into the B2 just after Okahandja. Follow the B2 for 64 km and turn right onto the C36 just after Wilhemstal. Drive along this gravel road for 73 km until you reach a T-junction. Turn right onto the C33 in the direction of Omaruru. After only 4 km you turn left onto the D 2315. After a short drive you pass the entrance gate of the Erongo Conservancy. From here you will reach the Erongo Farmhouse after about 32 km. On your right you will see the Erongo Farmhouse and Erongo Rocks Campsite signs. Here you turn right, drive through the gate and follow the signs to Reception for check in.
Travelling from Omaruru you drive along the C33 towards Karibib. Just 1km after Omaruru you turn right onto the D 2315. After a short drive you pass the entrance gate of the Erongo Conservancy. From here you will reach the Erongo Farmhouse after about 32 km. On your right you will see the Erongo Farmhouse and Erongo Rocks Campsite signs. Here you turn right, drive through the gate and follow the signs to Reception for check in.
Coming from Swakopmund you take the B2 towards Karibib. In Usakos you turn left into the D 1935 to Okombahe. After 22 km travel right onto the D2306 - still in the direction of Okambahe. After 25 km you drive east onto the D2315. After a short drive you pass the entrance gate of the Erongo Conservancy. From here you will reach the Erongo Farmhouse after about 15 km. On your left you will see the Erongo Farmhouse and Erongo Rocks Campsite signs. Here you turn left, drive through the gate and follow the signs to Reception for check in.
